Hilda Lyn Paddock Pearson, 75, passed away on July 22, 2022, in American Fork, UT.
Hilda was born on May 5, 1947, in Salt Lake City, UT to Eugene S. Lloyd and Maxeen Eliza Conder. She was later adopted by the man she called dad, Algon A. (Pat) Paddock.
Hilda married Robert Dale Pearson on October 16, 1965, in Elko, Nevada and later solemnized the marriage in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Together they raised a loving family until his passing on June 2, 2008.
Hilda was a woman before her time. She worked in many male-dominated industries and came from a long line of strong, independent women. She was the first woman in Utah to graduate in electronics from the Utah Technical College.
Hilda loved to travel, especially on cruises and in her RV. She enjoyed meeting new people and sharing tall tales with them. She often spoke of her childhood where they would pick wild asparagus along the Provo River and enjoy activities outdoors.
She was a skilled homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, cake decorating, floral arranging, and more. She helped many young women with their entire wedding preparations. Her favorite shopping trips were to the fabric and craft stores. Hilda loved watching TV. Her favorites were Star Trek, true crime stories, and dramas. She was also an avid reader whose favorites were The Mammoth Hunters series by Jean Auel.
Hilda is survived by her children, Deborah (Rebecca) Pearson and Janna (Therral) Curtis; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Hilda is preceded in death by her husband Robert Dale Pearson; her son Robert Dale Pearson Jr., her parents Algon Paddock and Maxeen Conder, and her brother-in-law and sister, Larry and Ann Fenn.
The service for Hilda Pearson will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd at 12:00 PM at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:45-11:45 AM.
