Harold Sargent

November 19, 1944 — November 28, 2023

Harold Wayne Sargent, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at the age of 79, surrounded by family. His passion for mechanics and a lifelong dedication to his family defined his remarkable journey.

He was born on November 19, 1944, to Harold Hugo Sargent and Dorothy Irene Bird, in Tulsa Oklahoma. At age 5, they moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah. He married his best friend and life long partner, Carol Jean Webb on August 11, 1965, in Elko, Nevada. They had 2 children and were married 59 years.

Harold served 2 years in the United States Army. He was employed with Geneva Steel and after retirement from Geneva he opened up his own mechanic business fixing and restoring cars.

Harold discovered his love for fixing cars at a young age. A skillful mechanic, he dedicated himself to his craft. Not only did he excel in his profession, but he also had a natural talent for repairing and using ham radios and computers. He would always lend a hand to friends and loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Sargent; his two children, Harold (Sandy) Sargent and Tamera (Brian) Bennett; and his grandchildren, Colby Brian Bennett and Katelyn Nicole Bennett, who were the light of his life. Harold also leaves behind his siblings, Mark Sargent, Vickland (Amber) Sargent, Betty Jensen, Barbara Knight, and Micki Sargent. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy; his brother, Connie Sargent; and his sister, Joann Luke.
