Diane Smith

Diane Austin Smith August 30, 1943 - December 2, 2025

On Tuesday, December 2, 2025 the world lost a great woman. Diane, our loving mother, sister, grandmother and great- grandmother passed away peacefully. She is reunited with her husband (Ronald Smith), her parents, (Carl and Louise Austin) and her siblings; (Alma, Phyllis, Thayne, Lionell, Lowell, and Mardee) who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters; Carleen Wilson, Donna (LeEarl) Healey, and her brother Frank Austin.

Diane was born August 30, 1943, in American Fork and was raised in Alpine, Utah where she lived for 80 years of her life. Diane married Ronald Smith, the love of her life, on May 29, 1962. They were blessed with 4 children, Austin (Debra) Smith, Lorale McKnight, Cassie Smith, and J.R. (Marci) Smith. Diane loved all of her kids as well as her 10 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

Diane loved living in Alpine and especially loved her beautiful yard. She enjoyed working in her yard and could always be found outside doing chores. Diane loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, cross-country skiing, hiking and hanging out in the creek up American Fork canyon with her daughters. as well as watching the deer and quail that lived in her yard.

Diane will always be remembered for her work ethic, beautiful yard, and the unconditional love of family which she gave. She is loved and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

Graveside services will be held on December 6, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the Alpine City Cemetery.
