Graciela Cardenas De Narvarte, 90, passed away June 16, 2020 in her home in American Fork surrounded by her family. She was born September 8, 1929 in Arequipa, Peru to Juan Cardenas and Vicenta R. Bellido De Cardenas. She married Fausto Navarte Arrospide on September 8, 1954 in Lima, Peru. Later solemnized in the Lima, Peru Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Graciela enjoyed visiting with friends, going out to eat, hosting church events, and sharing the gospel. She lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ and wanted everyone she came in contact with to learn about God’s Plan of Happiness. She was a self-taught, accomplished apparel designer and worked for some of the most affluent families in Peru for several decades before retiring. After the passing of her husband in 1990, Graciela raised their young son, Manuel with great love and self-sacrifice.
She is survived by her son Manuel and his wife Melissa Cardenas as well as her grandchildren Corben, Vienna, and Geneva; her sister Adela Palavicini, a nephew Carlos Palavicini, and great nephews, Renato and Rodrigo. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM at American Fork Cemetery, 600 North Center Street, American Fork. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 AM at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. Please share a memory at andersonmortuary.com.
