It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Rae (Willingham) Mitani, who passed away on December 24, 2025, peacefully in her own home in American Fork, Utah, at the age of 62.
Donna was born on January 26, 1963, in Provo, Utah, to Donald and Elizabeth Willingham. She was known for her unwavering devotion to her family. She married the love of her life, Rodney Mitani, and together they built a life centered on love and family, raising three children. If she wasn’t caring for her husband, Rod, she was lovingly taking care of her children and grandchildren. Her life revolved around those she loved, and she found her greatest joy in being there for them in every way—big or small.
Donna loved her children more than anything in this world, and that love extended deeply to her grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest, finding happiness in both everyday moments and meaningful experiences. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially camping, fishing, supporting kids and grand kids in sporting events and activities, and riding on the back of the motorcycle with her husband—moments that brought her peace and happiness.
She was deeply devoted to her husband and stood faithfully by his side throughout his military career. Wherever duty called him, she followed with unwavering support, making each new place feel like home. During deployments, she carried the weight of separation with strength and grace, offering constant encouragement, love, and stability. Her dedication, sacrifice, and steadfast presence were a quiet but powerful foundation of his service.
Beyond her devotion to family, Donna was known for her strong work ethic and compassion. As an Environmental Services Manager in healthcare, she took great pride in her work, quietly impacting countless lives through her dedication, kindness, and willingness to serve.
Donna had a rare gift for making people feel welcome and valued. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious smile could brighten any room, and she had an incredible ability to make everyone feel special. Whether through quiet acts of service or simple moments of connection, she left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Mitani; her father, Donald Willingham; her father-in-law, Kay Mitani; her sister, Linda Pope; and her nephew, Bradley Oosteveen.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Mitani; her sons, Zackery (McKell) Mitani and William (Kiley) Mitani; her mother, Elizabeth Willingham; and her cherished grandchildren, Everly, Olivia, Gray, and Raiden Mitani.
Her kindness, strength, and quiet devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Donna leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, family, and compassion that will live on through those she cherished most.
