In Loving Memory of Daniel Boyd Piper

December 21, 1948 - October 14, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Daniel Boyd Piper, who left us unexpectedly at home in Highland, Utah, on October 14, 2025 from an underlying health condition. A man of great warmth, character, generosity and love. He touched the lives of all who knew him.

Born on December 21, 1948, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Daniel was the son of Russell Piper and Mary Ella Stotts. Dan was a skilled and dedicated Master Electrician, known for his love of fixing things and his endless ability to make the impossible possible. He was a true problem-solver who took immense pride in his company, Piper Electric. A company that not only employed his sons and sons in laws, but any of his son's friends that needed a career. He was never too busy for his family and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

On May 6, 2017, Daniel married the love of his life, Karen Finlayson Burningham and embraced the joys of a blended family, adding stepchildren to his heart, alongside his own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love knew no bounds and his capacity to care for others was unmatched. They were solemnized in the Mt Timpanogas temple on May 4th, 2019.

Christmas was his favorite time of year, and no one could forget the joy he brought to the holiday season. Dad would go all out, decorating with enthusiasm and making every gathering feel special. His happy go lucky attitude and thoughtfulness during the holidays was a reflection of the love he carried in his heart every day.

He was a man who was always there for others, Dan will be remembered for his selflessness and his ability to make those around him feel cherished. His presence in our lives was a gift, and his absence leaves a void that will never be filled. We will deeply miss the way he shared his time, wisdom, and love, and we will always be grateful for the impact he had on our lives. He was a wealth of information and others would call him for help, even the day of his passing. He was termed: "A walking encyclopedia!"

Dan leaves behind his beloved wife and partner Karen, his children : Amy (Travis) Hansen, Becky (Rick) Gamber, Kim (Buzz) Durrant, Mathew (Lisa) Piper, Branden (Milena) Piper, Nori Piper, stepchildren : Kerilyn (Kent) Taylor, Jason (Makayla) Burningham, Taylor Burningham, and Jennilyn (Brendan) Nunley, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as countless friends and family who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
