Dale Horace Clark

Dale Horace Clark passed away leaving behind a legacy of service, adventure, loyalty, and deep love for family and friends. He was born on July 27, 1943, to Horace and LaVon Clark.

Dale spent his early childhood in Alhambra, California, where he treasured time with his parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family. Later, the family moved to Utah, where he attended junior high school and graduated from Springville High School. He continued his education at Brigham Young University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.

From 1969 to 1971, Dale proudly served his country as a radioman in the United States Marine Corps. His military service reflected the dedication, courage, and commitment that would continue to define his life.

Following his time in the Marines, Dale devoted his career to public service as a police officer with the California State Police before continuing his career with the California Highway Patrol. He served with honor and integrity, earning the respect of his colleagues and the communities he protected.

His nieces and nephews eagerly anticipated his visits to Utah, where he delighted them with rides on his motorcycles and in his cars, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.

Dale had a passion for cars, motorcycles, boating, firearms, and aviation. One of his greatest joys was flying his airplane and sharing that experience by taking family and friends on unforgettable flights. He also found great fulfillment flying radio-controlled airplanes with his friends and later his veterans group, where the fellowship of fellow servicemen and women provided friendship, healing, and a sense of belonging.

More than his hobbies, it was the way Dale used them to bring people together that made him so special. Whether spending a day on the water, sharing a ride, enjoying a day at the range, or flying RC airplanes, he built lifelong friendships and strengthened family bonds through the activities he loved. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on many who knew him.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and LaVon Clark; his sister, Diane and her husband Bill; his brother, Bob and Dorothy; one niece; and two nephews.

He is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, countless friends, and fellow veterans. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the example of service, friendship, and generosity he leaves behind will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

The family is deeply grateful for those good friends who cared for him, especially in his last days. He will be greatly missed!

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Noon, at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 1700 W, Bluffdale, Utah.
