Christopher Harold Park

Our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Chris Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the age of 54, surrounded by love and holding the hand of his best friend.

Chris was born on May 14, 1972, to Harold Park Jr. and Alona Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in American Fork Utah with his sister Jeanna (Park) Carter, and little brother Adam Park. He Graduated from American Fork High school in the class of 1990 where he lettered in drafting and designed the first remake of the AF Cavemen mascot, won several young draftsman state competitions, and went on to graduated from ITT Technical Institute with his degree in Drafting in 1993.

Chris was an accomplished draftsman and an amazing artist who designed large buildings throughout Utah County, skyscrapers, technical drawings for R&D projects, complicated custom metal art projects, and life portrait charcoal drawings. Although his first main jobs were at Hydroengineering, Harris Rebar, and Custom Laser Specialty, he also spent much of his life caring for others, working at the Utah State Developmental Center and Lindon Care Centers helping and teaching Disabled adults and youth.

Chris was married to Amy Hardinger in 1997 and became a proud Dad to Dallen Park at the age of 3. During their wedding reception Chris was so excited he watched Dallen walk around the reception telling everyone “We are all getting Mareweed today”. Although this marriage did not last, Chris always wanted to be Dallen’s Dad and was so happy and grateful the day he was able to legally adopt Dallen, as Dallen became part of his heart the first day he met him at only a few months old.

Chris loved guns and cars, especially Mustangs, and owned several throughout his life. He enjoyed sitting in his car listening to his favorite music, especially ’80s heavy metal, audiobooks, and talking with friends, or target shooting with all the members of his family. Chris also loved late-night conversations under the moon and stars and said these were some of his happiest and most cherished moments when he felt like he was able to be there and help others he cared about.

Chris was a kind, loyal, compassionate, and selfless man. Those who knew him described him as “an incredible, soft, vulnerable, loving, and honorable man” and a “wonderful soul.” Throughout his life, there are so many that said he was “their best friend” that he wore this title with a smile as Chris was the kind of friend who would drop everything and drive for hours to help someone in need not just by text or by phone. Chris loved deeply and truly helped people feel seen, heard, and loved.

Chris’s hero and father, Harold Park Jr., preceded him in death in 2018. His grandparents Behula Ann and Roland L Hansen (Fairfield, UT), Sarah E and Harold Park Sr (Fairfield, UT), and Aunt and Uncle Marie and Larry Cook (Cedar Fort, UT)

Chris is survived by his mother, Alona Park; his son, Dallen Park; Jeanna (Park), Carter (sister) Chad Carter (Best friend), Adam Park (Little brother) and Patrice Park (sister-in-law)

Chris leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly and was incredibly proud of: Kaila (Devin) Bohannon, Haegn Burnette (Rebecca), Jessica (Angelo)Cerdeios, Kyler Carter, Gabie (Bill) McKowen, Willow Park, Alyssa Carter, Maddex Park, Adia (Josh) Healey, and Gigi Park. Chris cherished the relationships he had with each of them and was always there to offer a listening ear, a little advice, a hug, or simply a reminder that they were loved. Chris spent several hours enjoying his time with them and especially loved his “littles”; his great nieces and nephews of whom he loved to tease.

Chris leaves behind countless friends who were so much more than friends—they were family and he had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of the people around him, creating meaningful connections wherever he went. His presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
