Cheryl Conder

September 25, 1947 — October 29, 2025

In loving memory of Cheryl Lynne Petty Cook Conder beloved mom, sister, grandmother, and friend who passed peacefully at home the 29th October 2025.

Cheryl was born the 25th September 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Douglas Keith and Alberta Perkins Petty. She was very fortunate in her life to be blessed with two additional parents, a step-father Raymond Newman Cook and a step-mother Wanda Burns Julson Petty.

Cheryl was raised in Lindon, Utah most of her life with her nine siblings. As a teen she found she had five more siblings and was ecstatic to have sisters very near her own age. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High school in 1965 and spent her life working in semi-conductor fields before finding a career she loved with OEC/GE creating medical equipment. Where she retired in 2011.

Cheryl married Erwin Dee Conder on 29th April 1966 and together they had six children: Bryan, Carey, Gary, Suusi, Myndie and Brent. She was a wonderful mother who we knew loved us and we felt safe testing all of her mental and emotional limits. She was fiercely loyal, loved her family, and spent many moments with us laughing, fighting and teaching us being a parent is really hard work when six kids are driving you crazy. She was a thorough family history nerd, knew her way around a sewing machine, a cartoonist and all around crafting aficionado. She had a quick wit and ready smile that kept Myndie and Dave very busy as they did all they could to care for and give her the best possible last year of her life. We are so thankful they were always there for her. We all loved her completely and miss her so much.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Erwin and their children Camille (Bryan) Conder, Carey (Ellis) Potter, Suusi Grace, Myndie (Dave) Taylor, and Brent Conder. Her siblings: Pam (Joe) Nerdin, Karl (Tina) Cook, LeRae Cook, Kevin (Jeanne) Cook, Vivian West, Kristina Cook, Wade (Shegay) Cook and Rafe Petty. Along with 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, sons Bryan and Gary, granddaughter Allison Brown, brothers Clyde Petty, Dennis Petty, Danny Petty and sisters Paula Cook, Carol Duckworth, and Janice Marshall.

A viewing will be held on Monday Nov 3, 2025 at the Harbor 2nd Ward LDS Chapel located at 600 S. 100 W. with a funeral following and burial in Alpine Cemetery. A luncheon will be held after services at the Harbor 2nd Ward in American Fork.

If you knew her, you know she loved you and we invite you to come celebrate the wonderful person she was with us.
