Cecile Avon Smith Fernandez

Cecile Avon Fernandez (ne'e Smith) , age 84, most recently of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 25th in West Jordan.

Born on June 6th 1942 in Redding CA to Barclay E & Mary K Smith, Cecile "Avon" spent her early years in San Carlos California.

Avon was known for her unique sense of humor and an unending love of Family History. She loved Denim (particularly Ralph Lauren), Coach purses, Blue Willow and Spode dishes, Cinnamon Bears, McDonalds Coke, Sonic pebble ice, and Pigs... Soo many pigs. Whether she was working on Genealogy or Sodoku or spending time with family, Avon brought a love to everyone around her. A highlight of her decades of church service was the time spent as Primary President both in her ward and for the stake.

She is survived by Avon Ventura (Daughter), Adam Fernandez (Son), Brian Ventura (Son-in-Law), Cindy Fernandez (Daughter-in-Law), Jacob, Alex, Sophia (Grandchildren), Barclay Smith Jr (Brother), and Adrian Smith (Brother). Avon was preceded in death by her parents Barclay Smith Sr and Mary K Smith.

A celebration of life will be held on Sat Aug 8th at 1pm at the Willow Glen LDS Chapel at 6364 S 3200 W, Taylorsville UT 84129.

A luncheon will follow the service. In honor of Avon all attendees are encouraged to wear at least 1 denim article of clothing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
