Craig Bradford Tibbitts (age 76), passed away on November 4, 2020, after a years-long battle with Lewy Body Disease. He was surrounded by family in his home in Alpine, Utah.
Brad was born on June 26,1944 and raised by his loving mother and father, Terrece and Bryon, Jr., in St. Anthony, Idaho. He graduated from South Freemont County High School and, later, attended Brigham Young University. In 1983, Brad married Catherine Betty Rumpf in Alpine, Utah; They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo, Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together, they raised nine wonderful children, whom he truly loved and cherished.
Prior to his retirement, Brad worked as Property and Casualty Director for the Insurance Department of the State of Utah. He also served on Alpine City Council. Brad fulfilled many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in several bishoprics where he, humbly, provided much beloved and cherished council to many in need. He was immensely proud of the opportunity to serve a mission in Halifax, Nova Scotia and to serve three years in the LDS 12-Step Program, along with his wife.
Brad loved and was skilled in snow skiing, fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed watching BYU football, driving fast cars and listening to music. He was a talented vocalist and participated in many community plays and local choirs. Brad enjoyed cooking for others and had many family-favorite dishes.
While soft spoken, Brad had a sharp sense of humor. However, as they say, “actions speak louder than words;” It is because of this that he stood tall among all with whom he associated, and was well respected for the man he was. His true passion was for his family members whom he loved equally and eternally.
Brad is survived by his wife of 37 years, Catherine Tibbitts and his children: Angie Tibbitts, Makay Tautu, Amy Balderree, Michael Tibbitts, Ben Lyons, Brooke Tibbitts-Brown, Wendy Lyons, Joshua Tibbitts, Lindsay Bowen; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Byron Jr. and Terrece Tibbitts and his brother, Scott Pratt Tibbitts.
