Carol Rebecca Stevenson Laycock, wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away Sunday morning, June 22, 2025 from congestive heart failure.
Carol was born March 23, 1937 in Payson, Utah to Floyd Cyril Stevenson and Ora Rebecca Brimhall Stevenson. She was the fourth of five children.
Carol was raised in Payson, Utah and graduated from Payson High School and went on to attend Cosmetology School in Salt Lake City.
She married Clifford Bert Laycock on May 10, 1956. Carol was later sealed to Cliff in the LDS Temple. Together they had four daughters. They raised their family for the most part in American Fork, Utah then moved to Payson, Utah after their daughters were raised Carol took much pride in her home and yard winning many city beautification awards. When Cliff passed in 2008 she moved to Springville in a retirement community where she made many friends. She spent many hours volunteering at Peteetneet with her brother Dee. Carol was a well known artist for her cross-stitch selling many pieces and winning numerous awards at art shows. carol retired from the state of Utah after 30 years at the Utah State Developmental Center, primarily in vocational education.
Carol is survived by her four daughters Valerie (Brent) Strong, Sue (Mike) Strasburg, Sandi (Brian) Magann and Leisa Laycock She is also survived by 13 grandchildren. Kimberly Rizzi, Kamaron Strong, Kelcie Babcock and Kamille Bowers. Justin Strasburg and Melissa Borchert. Kristen Migila, Amber Lyn Alvidrez and Ryan Davis. Shelbey Orme, Jacey Orme and Kolby Orme. She was preceded in death by two beloved grandchildren Kassidy Orme and Brandon Forbes. She has 6 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband Cliff, her parents and four brothers, Dale, Jim, Bill and Dee.
A private family prayer will be held at Anderson and Son Mortuary 49 East 100 North, American Fork, at 10:00 am Monday June 30th followed by a graveside service at Payson City Cemetery at 11:30 am. Afterward there will be a luncheon at Carols ward located at 878 West Center Street, Springville, Utah.
