Brenda Sue Campbell was born on December 7, 1960 in Missoula Montana, the second of three daughters, to Arlo & Greta Campbell. Brenda was raised and educated in Hamilton Montana, graduating from High School in 1979. During her school years Brenda was a good student, but she excelled in homemaking skills. As a teenager, she won 1st prize blue ribbon multiple years in a row at the county fair for her German chocolate cake and expanded these skills later in life. In July 1979, Brenda married Fred Keilbart in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Four children came from this union; Jacob, Kimberly, Trevor, and Samantha.
Brenda sacrificed her education for Fred's military career. Because of his military service, the family moved frequently, living in Utah, Montana, New York, Georgia, California, Virginia, finally settling in Minnesota for over 20 years. Brenda was always a hard worker, doing whatever she needed to do to keep her little family afloat. From selling Avon and Tupperware to early morning newspaper deliveries in Newport News, Virginia to then managing a JoAnne Fabrics store and finally as an insurance adjuster for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
She was a devoted, loving, mother to her children and a second "mom" to her children's friends. As her excellent home making skills expanded, she became an adventurous cook, a cheesecake queen, a superb seamstress, quilter, knitter and crocheter and thoroughly sharing her talents with family and loved ones. During her final few years in Minnesota she was an avid participant in an organization that provided dresses, hats, moses baskets and blankets for babies who were Still-born or passed too soon. Brenda found joy in making handmade gifts for her loved ones and creative Halloween costumes for her children. She enjoyed gardening and canning, as well as creating her own habanero jams and jellies. Later in life, Brenda discovered another creative outlet by making mosaics. One of Brenda's favorite guilty pleasures was enjoying long, hot bubble baths and the companionship of her dogs, which she had many of throughout the years...Schnauzers being her favorite breed. But above all else, her family, especially her grandchildren were the light of her life.
She was a loving daughter and sister, and possessed a very generous nature. She and her mother were best friends enjoying the same sense of humor; regularly bringing smiles to those around them. They enjoyed many of the same pastimes and had an unbreakable bond. Their reunion was sure to have been one of immense joy!
Brenda was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, holding many callings over the years. Her testimony never wavered and she was guided by values taught to her in childhood.
On February 10, 2026, with family at her bedside, Brenda passed into the arms of her loving Savior, as well as family that had gone before her. We are heartbroken at her loss. She leaves a void that can never be filled; however, we are comforted in knowing that Families can be Forever.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Fred as well as her mother and father. She is survived by her children: Jacob and his wife Jen; their children Madison, Jaden, Ashton, and Breckin; Kimberly, Trevor, Samantha and her husband Nate and their children; Maxwell, Noah and Tanner. Her sisters Tammy and Marci, along with her family. And finally, her beloved dog, Monte.
We would like to express our appreciation to all those who cared for Brenda during the last few months of her life.
