Audrey Bryant, a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered on family and faith, peacefully passed away on September 13, 2026. Audrey was born on August 10, 1935, to Hugh and Audrey McCoy. She was a beacon of love and joy to all who knew her. Audrey was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and treasured friend who poured her heart and soul into the relationships that mattered most to her. Her kindness, generosity, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on the lives of those around her.
Audrey was a dedicated and accomplished professional secretary. She spent many years working for World Book, the publisher of World Book Encyclopedia, World Book Research Guides, and Childcraft. Later in her career, she worked for the Salt Lake City School District as an executive assistant to Olene Walker, who later became the Lieutenant Governor and Governor of Utah. In that role, Audrey supported efforts involving fundraisers, endowments, and philanthropy for the school district.
Audrey was a dependable and capable employee who consistently exceeded the expectations of her employers. She was recognized many times for her excellent work, dedication, and commitment to those she served.
Her dedication to service continued throughout her life. Together with her husband, Dee, Audrey gave countless hours of service to their Church through various callings and, later in retirement, through full-time and part-time missions. She found great purpose in serving others and remained committed to her family, her Church, and the people around her throughout her life.
Family was at the center of Audrey's world. She loved her mother dearly, and because her father passed away when she was very young, she especially cherished her relationships with her brothers and sisters. From an early age, she learned the importance of hard work and providing for those she loved-values she carried throughout her life and into retirement.
Audrey often referred to her children as "My Three Sons." She was happiest in her home, raising her sons and later being blessed with daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who was always concerned about the well-being of her children and grandchildren.
Her love often showed itself in simple, thoughtful ways. Audrey frequently clipped religious articles from Church magazines and sent them to her sons, hoping the words would provide guidance, encouragement, and strength as they faced life's trials and challenges. She was always looking for ways to help the people she loved.
As her family grew, Audrey treasured family gatherings and hearing about the comings and goings of everyone in the family. Whether a visit was carefully planned or someone simply dropped in, her first thought was often to prepare something to eat. She would immediately begin cooking or putting together a meal, making sure everyone felt welcome and cared for. Her home was a place where family and friends could always expect a warm welcome and something good to eat.
Audrey was always willing to help when family members or friends needed her. She offered loving support and encouragement through life's journeys and found her greatest joy in loving and serving those around her.Audrey was promised in a blessing that she would be the mother of many children. This blessing led her and her husband, Dee, to become foster parents to four young ladies. Audrey developed lifelong relationships with each of them, and they remained an important part of her life throughout the years.
Audrey had many interests that brought her happiness. She especially loved playing tennis and enjoyed her time on the courts, rallying with family and friends and sharing in the thrill of the game. She also enjoyed watching professional tennis matches from around the world. An avid lover of the outdoors, Audrey embraced nature's beauty and enjoyed countless outdoor activities throughout her life. She also dearly loved cats and dogs, especially the family cat, Tiger, and her two poodles, Lady and Pepe.
Audrey is survived by her husband, DeMar, and her sons: Russell (Natalie) Bryant, Michael (Jen) Bryant, and Daniel (VeAnn) Bryant; fifteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
