Annie Price Jones, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend passed on to new life, surrounded by her children, whom she loved dearly, June 9, 2025 in Orem, Utah following a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure.
Annie was the youngest of eight children born to her parents, Ann Hamblin and William Morse Price, April 8th,1933, in Malad, Idaho at the home of her Grandma Hamblin, a reputable midwife in the area. Annie's, (or "Little Annie" as was often referred to), earliest years were spent in Samaria, Idaho, a small community originally settled by her great-grandfather, John Evan Price. Growing up in a rural area, Annie loved most animals, especially kittens, dressing them up in doll clothes and nurturing them as a baby.
She attended the first years of grade school in Samaria until moving to Pleasant View, another small farming community nearby to live with her oldest sister Vera and family when her parents moved to Ogden for employment. They didn't feel it was safe for a young child to be left on her own in the city while they both worked and helped with the "War Effort."
While living and working on the farm in Pleasant View, Annie learned the value of hard work and exactness in her efforts. Throughout her life Annie attributed much of her esteemed recognition as an employee and successful small business owner herself to the lessons learned during her formative years in Pleasant View. During this time Annie also met the young, dark haired boy, Lester, whom she would later attend high school, marry and raise a family with.
After the war, Annie and her parents moved back to Malad, where she continued her schooling and graduated from Malad High School class of 1951. Though shy in nature, Annie had many friends, her enduring kindness, involvement in extra-curricular school activities, and love of dancing made her very popular.
Shortly after graduation Annie married Lester C. Jones August 3, 1951 in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She moved to Dillon, Montana thereafter and she joined the Jones family on their recently acquired ranch, about ten miles north of town. Annie's strong work ethic served her well as a rancher's wife, cooking for a large crew of workers during haying and harvest season as well as caring for their own young growing family. LaVon, Sherri, and Cindy. Many changes came about over the next 27+ years, moving to town, changing employment and adding another much anticipated child, Kendal to the family. Through the ups and downs Annie always kept her chin up, hands busy and strong determination to move forward in place. Working unselfishly and creatively at various jobs to ensure the well being and comfort of her family. Though very busy herself, Annie took time to reach out and help others in the community in both boys and girls scouting programs, various school sponsored activities, and as a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in numerous service and leadership oriented positions.
In 1981, Annie took a giant leap of faith and moved to Orem, Utah seeking employment for herself and a home for her children attending college nearby. She found a job with Southam and Warburton Aluminum where she managed their office as executive secretary for the next 25 years. All who met Annie commented on her professionalism, warm smile and friendly personality. Her bosses knew they could trust and depend on Annie for anything and that her integrity was impeccable.
Annie always had an appreciation and fondness for beautiful flowers and landscaping. She worked very hard to create and maintain an oasis of beauty and relaxation in her own well manicured yard. The family always looked forward to going to Grandma Annie's for frequent outdoor cookouts or parties. Family meant everything to her, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, ect. She always went out of her way to support and care for them all. Letting them know individually how very much she loved and appreciated having them in her life.
An abiding deep faith and love of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ, was a guiding force in Annie's life. She lived her faith by example, extending kindness, service and love to all who knew her. Annie truly made the world a better place, she will be sorely missed and forever appreciated and loved.
