Ann Wagstaff

Ann Wagstaff, 83, passed away on November 6, 2022, in Orem, UT. She was born in Meadow, UT to Ellis Taft and Edith Bushnell Taft. She married D. Jesse Wagstaff on January 4, 1963 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Manti Temple.

She loved sports and lettered in basketball in high school. She earned her RN degree and worked as a surgical nurse at Utah Valley hospital. She later became an avid genealogist and worked at National Archives in Washington, D.C. She moved several times in her her lifetime. Ann lived in Brownsville, Texas; Laketown, Michigan; Frederick, Maryland; Logan, Utah; Colombia, Missouri; McLean, Virginia; and finally settled in Beltsville, Maryland. Many years later, she and Jesse retired to Pleasant Grove, Utah.

For a number of years, Ann worked in the family file desk and the engineering department at the Washington DC Temple. She really loved it there. She was also an avid Scouter and became very involved on the both the troop and district levels. She received many awards and recognition for her service in Scouting,but more importantly, there are many boys that she helped over the years.

Ann is survived by her three sons, David (Ruth Ann) Wagstaff of Provo, UT, Andrew (Stephanie) Wagstaff of Lehi, UT, & Terry (Jamie) Wagstaff of Marysville, WA., 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, sisters, Janice (Al) Ott, and Mary (Ken) Boyd. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Wagstaff, her parents, Ellis and Edith Taft, her sisters: Ada Mills and Nina Gray, and a
brother Mason Taft.

The service for Ann Wagstaff will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove 2nd Ward Chapel, 455 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. A viewing will be held Saturday from 9:30-10:45 AM at the church prior to the services. Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery, 600 North Center Street.
