Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, Alice Marie Harding Edwards, age 82, of American Fork, peacefully returned home to our Heavenly Father on November 4, 2020 surrounded by her children. She was born February 1, 1938 in Vineyard, Utah. She was the daughter of Wesley Roe Harding and Alice Violet Phillips.
Marie was married to her childhood sweetheart, Paul VerDell Edwards, July 8, 1955 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on August 28, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From this union came three children, Rick, Pauline and Lynnette. This is when she learned to be a wonderful mother, homemaker and peacemaker.
Marie was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in many positions in the church. She especially loved being chorister for primary, branch and wards throughout her life. Marie and her husband Paul served a mission to Kentucky. Countless lives were touched through her faithful service.
Marie was a woman of many talents. She had a special passion for music and had a beautiful singing voice. She spent most of her younger years singing with her three sisters for various occasions and events. Their programs were enjoyed by ward members, civic groups, families and friends . She enjoyed bowling with Paul winning many trophies, playing games with family and friends, playing the piano and organ, talented seamstress, crocheting beautiful blankets she made for her children, grand children and great-grand children. She was especially talented when it came to painting and drawing. After Paul passed away she tried her hand at pencil sketching and did a beautiful sketch of him. She entered it into the American Fork Arts Festival winning 2nd place.
Marie was dearly loved by many and she reflected that love back to all around her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Marie is survived by her children, Rick (Charlene) Edwards, Pauline Edwards, Lynnette (Doug) Thornton, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two brothers Evan and David Harding. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul V. Edwards, her parents Wesley and Alice Harding, and siblings, Boyd Harding, Barbara Packard, Beth Tidwell, and Nadine Peterson. Due to COVID-19 the family has chosen to have a private family service.
