Veldon Eugene Coleman Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather returned peacefully to his heavenly home on September 6, 2019, at the age of 87
Veldon was born on August 10, 1932, in Acequia, Idaho, to Edward and Elial Coleman. Veldon was known as a hard worker and spent most of his life providing for his family through various business ventures in the laundry and dry cleaning industry.
On November 27, 1957, Veldon married his eternal companion Iris Marie Crisson in the Salt Lake City Temple. The two met while serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission. Before his mission, Veldon was drafted into the Korean War as a member of the United States Army.
In 1980, Veldon opened his first dry cleaners. In 1983, he moved his store to Provo and became Veldon’s Academy Cleaners where many knew him for his pick-up and delivery service throughout the valley.
Veldon was preceded in death by his father, Edward, His mother, Elial, his elder brother Clarence, his daughter Pamela, and his grandson Conrad. He is survived by his wife Marie, his five children Cristee (Mike) Edvalson, Veldon Jr. (Cheryl), Kevin, Edward (Steven Mills) and Gina Coleman, 13 Grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on September 11, 2019, starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Orchard 2nd Ward Chapel, 670 East 800 North, Orem Utah. Friends and family are welcome for a viewing on September 10th from 6 – 8 p.m. and from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. on the day of the services at the orchard 2nd Ward Chapel.
