Laura Billings

June 6, 1981 — August 1, 2022

Laura Lee Billings (Findeis) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 1, 2022 in Meridian, Idaho from complications of an undiagnosed medical condition.
Laura was 41 years old.

Laura was born in Provo, Utah on June 6, 1981 and spent her early years in Provo and Orem. She came into this world a precocious girl with a smile that would brighten anyone's day and a laugh that was not only infectious, but ran through a room like "the wave" at a football game!

As a young toddler learning to speak, sweet Laura, as is common with most young children, could not pronounce her name and when others asked her what her name was, she looked up and proudly said, "Wawa Gee-Geis!" This name stuck and morphed over her lifetime....our precious Wawa, Waffz and Waffles is how our family, as well as so many of you still know and reference our beloved Laura.

Laura's family moved to Alpine when she was 13 years old where she attended Mountain Ridge Junior High School. She graduated from Lone Peak High School, received her Associates Degree from Snow College and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. She loved teaching and working with children. She was known to the children as "Miss F" and positively affected the lives of her 1st graders.

On July 21, 2012 Laura married the man that shook up her world, the man she affectionately called, "Husband," Christopher Billings. They just celebrated their 10-year anniversary. She and Chris have been a perfect match for one another from the day they met and truly enjoyed being together. They lived in Salt Lake City and Orem before moving to Orlando, Florida then settling in Meridian, Idaho.

Laura lived for being a mom and decided to put teaching on hold to be a stay-at-home mom when their first daughter, Sophia, arrived. Sophia turned 8 years old on Monday, August 8th. Kennley arrived a few years later and will turn 6 in September. Waffles loved those little girls and could not talk enough, post enough or take enough pictures of her precious little "Soph and Kenners."

Waffz was a unique presence on this planet and all who knew her, even if for a mere 41 years, instantly knew this. She wore and exuded her emotions in her whole being. You never wondered how Laura felt...whether happy, sad, frustrated or elated...She showed it and, she owned it. Her bubbly, gregarious, personality knew how to light up any room and her extremely loquacious attitude could keep a simple conversation going for hours.

Laura was not only a truly wonderful, loyal and devoted wife and mother, but a beautiful, fun and loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, auntie and friend. With as strong as a presence Laura had in this world, her absence will be forever felt even stronger.

Laura is survivied by her husband Chris Billings, daughters, Sophia (8) and Kennley (6), her mother, Lori Findeis, biological father Bill (Beth) Greenhalgh, adoptive father Michael Findeis, her siblings, Amber (Jeffrey) Stifflemire, Carly (Brad) Malmgren, Bradley (Eliesa) Findeis and Melissa Findeis, Rebekah Greenhalgh, along with her many adored nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, William Greenhalgh.
