George Vance

George Ertle Vance, Jr, 72, passed away November 4, 2016 in American Fork, Utah. Born February 8, 1943 in Delta, Colorado to George Ertle Vance and Susan Adline Gladden Vance. He married Mary Cecelia Carroll January 24, 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.
George retired from Tooele Army Depot after 27 years. He was a member of the National Guard Bridge Unit from Lehi, Utah, the 115th Engineers, and active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4918.
He was recognizable by his red hat and sunglasses. He was an active member of the LDS Church.
George is survived by his wife Mary, his son David Vance, 9 grandchildren, siblings Oran and John Vance. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the Veterans Memorial Park, in Bluffdale, Utah at a later date. A fund has been set up at America First Credit Union in his name. In lieu of flowers, a donation would be greatly appreciated.
