Eldon Conder

August 24, 1926 — September 30, 2015

Eldon Conder, 89, passed away on September 30, 2015 in Genola, UT. Born on August 24, 1926 in American Fork, UT to George Albert and Ina Versa Nielson Conder. He married Olive MaeBelle Morris on May 26, 1948 in the LDS Salt Lake Temple.
"Let's get this show on the road", was a favorite saying of his. He graduated from American Fork High School and lettered in sports where he loved to play football. After high school he joined the US Navy and served in WWII.
After returning from the Navy he went to work for Geneva Steel. He helped build the plant and worked there as a millwright for 30 years before retiring.
While raising his family, he served as a Stake missionary and received the Scouters Key award for working over 25 years as a scouter. He helped teach his children to love the outdoors and taught them how to hunt. He also volunteered as a coach for baseball and helped teach the boys to play ball.
Eldon served in several callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was ordained a seventy and a high priest where he served a secretary to the High Priest Group.
His family helped raise several foster children.
After the children left home he and his wife served several missions. He was call as the Director of the Family History Center while serving in Hyde Park, England. They also served in California and Virginia. They also served in a Stake Mission.
Some of his interests included gardening, wood and metal working, building, and collecting knives and foreign currency. He always wanted everyone to see his coin collection.
His example was Christ and tried to emulate his example all of his life.
Survived by his wife, children; Eldon LaMar (Robin) Conder, Darlene (Les) Bogh, Vern (Dixie) Conder, Monte (Sharon) Conder, Clint (Melanie) Conder, Annette (Phillip) Schwartz, Kris Conder, Kirk (Diann) Conder, Daren (Gina) Conder, foster son Alan (Heidi) Nolan, 53 grandchildren, 94 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, 3 brothers and a sister; Neldon Conder, Darrell Conder, Gareth Conder and Lorna Alexander.
Preceded in death by his parents, a son Rick, a grandson Adam, and his sister Margaret Gregla.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 11:00 a.m. at Genola 3rd Ward, Main Street and Center Street, Genola, UT. There will be a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Timpanogos Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1000 North 400 East in Orem. Please share a memory with us.
