Dennis Terry

Dennis Dilworth Terry, passed away Feb 18, 2017 at his home in American Fork, Utah, of kidney disease. He was 71 years old. He was born May 7, 1945 in American Fork to Dilworth Langston and Zelda Terry.
He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, LDS Seminary, and attended Southern State Univ.
Dennis worked for IGA food stores as a produce manager, Jack Jensen Trucking, and Metro Water District as an operator of the water gates at the Jordan Narrows.
Dennis married Elsa Watkins on July 12, 1968 in Alpine, Utah. They had 2 daughters.
Dennis enjoyed many hours with his "people" at the Star Saloon where he was known as the "Candy Man." He had a kind heart and always stuck up for the underdog. He loved animals and especially his cats.
He served with the Utah National Guard during the Vietnam War.
Dennis also enjoyed garage sales, antiques, old coins, duck hunting with his friend Jay and his grandkids.
Dennis is survived by his wife Elsa, his mother Zelda Terry, his brother Stan Terry, his sisters Carma King, Colleen Nielsen and Marlene (George) Scott; daughters Shazelle Terry and Shamae (Scott) Sabin, and four grandchildren, Addy, Parker, Cooper and Claire.
A viewing will be held Friday February 24, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork.
A viewing will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. At Anderson & Sons followed by a brief service at 10 a.m. prior to the interment at the Alpine City Cemetery, 400 Grove Drive, Alpine, Utah.
A roast will be held at the Star Saloon, 15 E Center in Pl. Grove following the view Friday evening.
