Karolyn Mayhew Teuscher

Karolyn Mayhew Teuscher
1941 - 2010
Our wonderful and dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend returned to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on August 23, 2010 after a valiant battle with liver cancer.
Born March 18, 1941 to Mona Nielson and Walter Ray Mayhew in Heber City, Utah, Karolyn grew up in Midway, Utah where she developed a great love for "the pretty side of Timp." She later graduated from Wasatch High School in 1959 and attended LDS Business College. She married her best friend and eternal sweetheart, Talvin Smith Teuscher, on June 5, 1963 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Karolyn's family was first and foremost in her thoughts and deeds as she dedicated her life to them. She provided a wonderful, fun and loving home to Talvin and their six children with the love of service to others becoming a lifelong attribute. Her passion in life was genealogical research and family history and rarely would any gathering conclude without her "family history minute." She loved, and was extremely gifted at all types of sewing and needlework and has blessed many lives with her beautiful quilts. When not sewing or researching, Karolyn was found reading and story telling. Her love of traveling and the creation of memory books recreated any adventure to its fullest and funniest. She was always the life of any party, sharing a keen wit and contagious laugh.
Karolyn loved Heavenly Father and had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One of her great joys was serving in the LDS Colorado Springs Mission with her dear husband. She also cherished being a temple worker in the Mount Timpanogos Temple for many years. Her attitude of service extended into many ward callings and being an instrument for good in the lives of many people.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Talvin; children, Talitha (Keith) Pulley, Karol Ann (Richard) McMullin, Rashele (Duaine) Naylor, Raylyn (Michael) Poulson, and Kirk (Kristine) Teuscher; eight grandchildren; siblings, Norman Mayhew and Connie Cook Holman and her beloved brother-in-law DeLoy Teuscher. Preceded in death by a son, Talvin Scott Teuscher, her parents, and sister Ann Lyn Mayhew Buster.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 11 am in the LDS American Fork East Stake Center located at 825 East 500 North in American Fork, Utah with an opportunity to greet the family from 10-10:45 am. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary located at 49 East 100 North, American Fork.

Please accept my condolences for your wife, mother, sister and grandmother. I attended Jr and Sr High with Karolyn and was invited to her home in Heber after baton pratice on a few occasions. I appreciated the well written obiturary to learn of her life since that time and how much she was loved.
