Robert Lee Anderson

Robert Lee Anderson, age 81, returned to his Father in Heaven on July 31, 2010 peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born on June 3, 1929 to Ira Milton and Mildred Mae Schumann Anderson in Los Angeles, California. He was the 3rd child of seven. Robert lost his father at the early age of 12 and then took on the responsibility of caring for his mother and siblings. He worked to help provide for them. He spent many hours with his Uncles and Aunts and enjoyed their love and attention. Dad enjoyed many great things in his life. He married his eternal companion Margaret LaRae Batchelor in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec 8, 1949. He adored his beautiful bride and treated her with unconditional love and care. They had seven beautiful children. He owned and operated Anderson's Auto Service for 40 plus years and had many loyal customers.
Dad taught each of his children how important it was to work hard and be the best we could be. He was a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was most happy when he was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and good food!! His love and passion for yard work was shown to all by the way he kept his yard. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed being surrounded by the beautiful mountains and all that God created.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many positions including being a member of the bishopric in the convalescent center. We admired dads unconditional love, caring and easy going attitude. He worked hard and sacrificed to raise his children. He was a great example to each one of us. He was a man of faith, miracles, perseverance and it showed in the way he lived his life.
We love you dad and will honor your legacy. Until we meet again!!
Survived by his wife and 7 children, Cindy Draper, Gilbert (Angie) Anderson, Orpha Sue (Michael) Bullock, Robert (Joni) Anderson, Caryl (Kurt) Rawlings, Jayne Madsen, Maria (Tyler) Corry, 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Sharon Varney and Shirley Polinsky, and 1 brother, Harry Anderson.

Dear Orpha, Mike, Amy and families,
We are saddened to learn of your father’s passing. We understand how difficult it is to have our loved ones progress to the other side. Although we are excited for their eternal progression, we still miss them on a daily basis. Our prayers are for your peace and comfort through our Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost.
