Thelma Pearl Bertin Carson

Our sweet and loving mother and grandmother Thelma Pearl Bertin Carson was joyfully reunited in heaven with her eternal companion, her sons, sisters and parents on July 20, 2010 at the age of 90.
Thelma was born July 11, 1920 to Harry and Margaret Pearl Olsen Bertin in American Fork. She was raised and attended schools in American Fork. She met William Clyde Carson and was married on February 18, 1938 in American Fork. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos temple on December 17, 1998. She was a loving and devoted companion to Clyde for 68 years. She and Clyde spent many wonderful years in the thoroughbred race horse industry working side by side. She was a devoted mother to two sons, Larry Bertin and Max Alma. Thelma worked for and retired from the Utah State Developmental Center where she was a supervisor. She enjoyed handiwork and crocheting, where many of us were recipients of afghans and booties. She loved her lifelong friendships she made with her secret pals club. One of her greatest fulfillments was being surrounded by her 6 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
Thelma is survived by her 6 grandchildren, GaNene (Ron) Taylor of Santaquin, Cory (Kim) Carson of South Jordan, Larry (Sandee) Carson of HIghland, Shauna (Scott) Denny of American Fork, Shane (Angeline) Carson of Highland and Kelly (Angie) Carson of Draper, a daughter-in-law Janae Carson of South Jordan, and two sister-in-laws, Charlotte & Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, her sons, Larry and Max, her sisters, Afton and Hazel and her parents.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Greenwood Manor in Lehi, to IHC hospice and nurse Colleen for their loving care they gave to Grandma.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Garden 7th Ward, 1028 West 1000 North, Pleasant Grove. You may visit with the family at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, American Fork Cemetery.
