Eileen Hardy Pitt
Eileen Hardy Pitt, 95, passed away June 19, 2010 in Highland, Utah from causes incident to age. Eileen was born Feb 9, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leonard Wilford and Ethelinda Allred Hardy. She spent her childhood in the Cardston, Alberta, Canada area and her teenage years in Utah. She attended Granite High and graduated from East High School. She married Donald Rae Pitt on October 14, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married 71 years and had two daughters, Carolyn Rae and Bonnie Jean.
Eileen was blessed with a great talent for sewing and knitting, creating 100’s of beautiful dresses and outfits, including 4 wedding gowns. She made coats, draperies and quilts and reupholstered furniture and car seats, etc. Born with a “cheerful” disposition, she was loved and admired by her family and all who made her acquaintance.
She gave many hours of service in the LDS Church as a teacher and secretary in Primary as well as secretary and homemaking leader in Relief Society.
Eileen is survived by her 2 children, Carolyn R. Wold Parduhn (Jerry), Bonnie Jean Johnson (Ken), 8 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband,
3 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Applegate Hospice services and to Maria Rico who gave such special care to Eileen these past months.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25 , 2010 at the Highland 19th Ward Chapel, 6750 W 10417 N. The family will receive friends and family at a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
