Leota Blanche Blosser Norviel passed peacefully from this life on June 1, 2010 at about 6 pm. She was born in Memphis, Hall, Texas, January 11, 1917 the 6th child of Amos Earl Blosser and Amanda Elizabeth Cline. She celebrated her birthday on the 10th as she had been told that was the date when she was young. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy William Norviel, 8 of her siblings, her parents, her son Dennis William Norviel and her grandson Terry Bruce Norviel. She is survived by 3 sons, Ronald Lewis (Terry) Jones of Reno, NV; Ronald Lee (Janet) Norviel of American Fork, UT; and Gerald LeRoy Norviel of Duchesne, UT; one sister Ruth Gilcrease of Golden Valley, AZ; a sister-in-law, Anna Blosser of Modesto, CA; 15 grandchildren: Troy B. Norviel, Cassaundra K. Howard, Tracey B. Norviel, Derick A. Norviel, Erick D. Norviel, Meredith A. Stevenson, Michele I. Norviel, Kyle L. Norviel, Corbin C. Norviel, Tristan N. Norviel, Meagan K. Norviel, Steven Jones, Edward Jones, Laura Jones Tattershall, Linda Jones Dodrill; 6 step grandchildren; Robert H. Smith, Richard K. Smith, Kerry N. Smith, Kevin J. Smith, Nanette Clark and Jennifer Boyer and many great grandchildren. We thank the nursing staff of the Heritage Care Center in American Fork for the care they provided for Leota during the past two and one half years.

The majority of her adult life was spent in Modesto, CA where she reared her children. She was a good cook and baker and her pastries were the prize of the students in her son’s schools when they brought them for lunch. She enjoyed her flower gardens and the fruits and vegetables that her husband grew were bottled and frozen for future use. She kept a meticulous home until her health began to fail. She lost her husband March 1, 1990 and lived alone until she had several falls and it became necessary for her to leave her home in Modesto and move to American Fork where she lived awhile in a Beehive Home. She left there to spend the rest of her life in the Heritage Care Center.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 4 pm in the Heritage Care Center, 350 E 300 N, American Fork. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.

Although I only became acquainted with Grandma Lee for the last few years of her life, it was still easy to see what a strong person she was, determined to live life as she saw fit. Now she is safe in the arms of the Lord, and we can take comfort in the pleasant memories we have of her. My heart and prayers are with all her family and friends, in this time of loss.

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the kind expression of sympathy. I will miss her and going to see her but the full extent of her passing won't affect me until I have finished all the details that need to be handled for her. I still have social security and insurance companies to deal with. Keep in touch, please.

Sincerely,
Ron Norviel
